Mukta Deobagkar


I joined the Cornall lab in 2013 as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist. Using genetic and molecular approaches, I study the function of novel genes in B cell development, survival and selection. I am particularly interested in the molecular events involved in sensing signal quantity and quality and the subsequent decisions that govern lymphocyte fate.

I completed my BSc and MSc in Microbiology at the University of Pune in western India. I was funded by the CSIR (India) Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship for my PhD at the Department of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in southern India. During my PhD, I studied the survival and activation of lymphocytes in the context of infection and host response mediated inflammation.
